Monica Puryear graduated from The University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts. Her specialty was painting and drawing. Monica’s art has been exhibited in numerous galleries from Florida to Texas to California. She is currently producing pen and ink drawings as well as original oils . She enjoys drawing or painting almost every day. Speaking of color, she was especially adept in color theory while studying art at the University of Florida.


Jack Puryear graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in photography followed a few years later with graduate studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Jack has operated a successful professional photography business in the Austin area since 1980. While in graduate art studies Jack became especially interested non-silver printing methods such as platinum and gum bichromate to name just two. He also was interested in the art of printmaking such as stone lithography and etchings.

Monica Receives 1st Place in University Exhibition 

In February Monica was awarded 1st Place in the Texas State University exhibition "Re-Imagine". The 20x20 oil titled "Ulrike's View" depicts the view from the balcony of sister-in-law Ulrike Puryear in Port Orchard, Washington. The competition was keen with over 100 pieces submitted to the judges.

Jack had one photo and Monica had two paintings accepted into the Georgetown Art Walk in March of 2020. Jack's photograph was entitled "Follow The Leader" which depicted a flock of Pelicans flying in formation over the Atlantic Ocean. Monica's paintings "Strange Terrain" and "Lifespan" won Honorable Mention.
